What is flickr? Flickr is an online community of photo enthusiasts / professionals / amateurs that allows for users to create profiles and photographic archives of their work and share them online. Flickr is free, but if you pay an yearly fee of $25 you get unlimited everything and no ads. You can also get a "pro" account (unlimited) if you have Rogers Hi-Speed internet. I use flickr because it is extremely easy to use and manage, and allows me to comment on other people's works as well as to showcase my photos to others, and get some feedback on my images. Opportunities to meet new people are endless, and I am constantly learning and improving my photographic skills from other members of the community. Flickr is probably one of the best photography sites out there when it comes to sharing and showing pictures online, although they have recently added a video feature which I am not particularly fond of. |
